This is the first weekly report of Village12. From Feb 13 – Feb 19. First lets talk about what we got accpmplished this week. With the help of 3 skilled volunteers on different days, Triage 100 people, planted 5 bags seeds, Dug an 11 foot x 11 foot x 5 foot on the se-tic tank, Spread 2 truckloads of sand and gravel to stop flooding and provide better walking conditions (this makes a total of 5 truckloads altogether). So what did this cost… This week we bought, 2 truckloads of gravel ($100) = $200 Lunch each day (5 days x $20) = $100 And people donated Wire and rebar stakes to repair the community tent — Bernard Seeds — Natalia Large bag of first aid supplies — Michelle For the week of Feb 20. Things we would like to spend money on next week, Food for kids and workers (~20 volunteers) — $50 a day ($250) Tools and Materials 5 truckloads of gravel – $112.50 each ($562.50) 2 wheelbarrows – $75 each ($150) 10 garbage cans – $40 each ($400) 100 feet of chicken wire to protect the plants $20 ($20) If we can raise enough money to cover these costs, I would also like to pay volunteers a living stipend. These costs will cover food and rent for all volunteers, and a bit more for Elias, the local team leaders and, Bernard, Natalia, Michelle and myself, skilled international volunteers.
